Self-Care Mantras

Mantras are one of the best resources
for self-care...

Mantras can be words, phrases, or sentences that focus your thoughts, relieve stress, or lift your mood.

You can include them in a daily meditation, or you can repeat them to yourself as you face obstacles throughout your day. As you repeat your mantra, you'll start to truly believe it and embody it.

Here are six daily mantras that you can add to your
self-care practice:

I love myself.

Accepting and loving yourself can sometimes be difficult, but it's an important step toward positive mental and spiritual health. Loving yourself the way you love your friends and family will help you realize that you deserve happiness just as much as they do.

As you repeat this mantra, remind yourself of
all your positive qualities, and remember that you're unique.

I am worthy of things that bring me joy.

We often deprive ourselves of good things or feel guilty for indulging in what we love. It's okay to want the best for yourself and to seek out what brings you joy.

Whether it's spending time with a good friend, sleeping in late, buying something nice for yourself, or anything else, you deserve the things that make you happy.

I deserve to take care of my mind and body.

If you're constantly stressed about work, school, or family obligations, you might neglect your physical and mental health. However, even amidst all the stress, you deserve to treat your mind and body well.

I am important.

You are just as important as anyone else, and you deserve to treat yourself like you're important. Your health and happiness matter, and your needs are valid.

It's easy to prioritize everyone and everything else above yourself, but this mantra will remind you that you're important too.

I choose to be positive.

The stress and struggles that come your way might be out of your control, but your attitude isn't. You can choose to be positive and to focus on the good things in your life.

Remind yourself that positive self-talk is powerful and effective, and you can choose to
focus on uplifting thoughts.

I am strong.

You have made it through every obstacle in your life so far, and you'll continue to make it through. Even when you don't feel strong, remind yourself of your strength. Sometimes, being strong involves practicing self-care, which helps you become healthy and focused enough to tackle whatever comes your way.

It's best to choose one mantra at a time and focus on it for at least a week. Everyone has different values and priorities, so some mantras might not benefit you as much as others.

Once you've tried out a few mantras, you'll find one that really speaks to you. A good mantra helps you focus on the positive, but it also has the power to influence your actions.

Your mantra should help you accept yourself, take care of yourself, and make positive choices that benefit your life.

Which mantra appeals to you most?

See you tomorrow!

Creating the Mindset that Will Support the Life You Want

8/27/2021

We spend our whole lives telling ourselves a mental story. That story frames how we perceive the world and our reactions to life's twists and turns.

Close your eyes for just a second and listen to the story your mind is telling. Is it filled with empowering phrases and images, or is it polluted by a negative outlook?

You must learn how to rewrite the mental story that is often on auto play in your mind. A great way to do this can be to simply slow down the endless procession of thoughts and noise.

Meditation is a great way to quiet the mind and refocus on positive thoughts.

In time the flow and substance of your own mental narrative can change for the better.

Time for a Tea Break

The other day, I suggested a day of tea. But if your to-do list won't yet permit your tea lifestyle, start with carving out space in your day, for a tea break.

Where in your day, could you make room for one?

See you next time!

To Manifest the Life You Want, Don't Give Up

8/13/2021

Recently, my Facebook group and I did a 7-day "journal the life you want" challenge. The goal was to identify at least one dream or wish for your life and write about it as if it already happened.

Each day, I popped in with videos to encourage everyone with a tip of information that would help with manifesting the life you want to create. Here's one I shared as we were wrapping things up, about how to continue the process once the challenge was over.

Watch it, so it can inspire you, too...

Did it inspire you?

See you next time!

Manifest the Life You Want with Affirmations

8/9/2021

Creating the life you want can be as simple as making sure that you are a match for the vibration of the things you want to manifest. But it also can be as complex as figuring out how to do that, in spite of limiting beliefs or other low-vibe experiences that get in the way.

But affirmations can help. Keep reading…

Picture

"I'm not Worthy!"

Fellow writer, healer and mystic, Brenda Fluharty suggested this limiting belief as one that could get in your way if you are trying to manifest the life you want.

Boy, is she right!

It can definitely hold us back!! I think it is probably the most common limiting belief there is, right up there with "it'll never work!"

If we could heal those two, we wouldn't recognize what this world would become.

So, when we have self-worth issues, eliminating their impact is not a one-to-one proposition. We need the strength of several different affirmations, and may need to nurture ourselves with them repeatedly, over time, before they take root.

Here are several possible examples...

I am enough
I deserve to get what I want
I want the very best for myself
I deserve the very best

And it could be good to add, "because I love myself, I know..." or something similar, at the beginning of each of those affirmations. Try saying them out loud.

Which ones feel most nurturing to you? And what other affirmations might you need to hear?

Picture

Believing Your Affirmations are True

Sometimes they feel fake when we have limiting beliefs we have been dealing with for a lifetime.

Might be fun to do a comparison between things that couldn't possibly be true and things that are hard to believe, but not impossible.

How do they feel? What happens to your body when you hear yourself say them?

What happens if you say, "is it possible that...?" What does your brain do?

Is it possible that what I desire is already mine?
Is it possible that money comes to me easily?
Is it possible that I am always enough, just as I am?

How did you feel with them as questions?

Manifest Your Life: Day in the Life Journaling

8/5/2021

Every day, you are manifesting your experience. Probably, quite by accident, much of the time.

Whenever you focus on something, you send a very powerful message to the universe that you are choosing that thing. And that is both the good news and the challenging news.

Let's look closer at how you can use journaling to focus on creating the simple, everyday lifestyle you want.

Create the Life You Want with Journaling

8/4/2021

Most of us who journal, or who have ever written in a journal, think of them as a place to pour out your heart, think through a problem, or just describe your day. And indeed, self-expression can be very powerful.

But I'm going to suggest another way to journal. This might even be a more important reason to journal, since it could change your life.

Manifest the Life You Want with Journaling

That graphic is a kind of preview of coming attractions for this month's blog posts. The theme, as you may have surmised, will be creating or manifesting the life you want.

The Law of Attraction is the inspiration for the conversation I want to have with you.

And my question is this. Could journaling be the process you need to create the tweak or shift you want in your life?

Doesn't have to be a major change. Might just be about finding more time for self-care. Or creating a rhythm in the way you spend time each day, so that each day goes more smoothly.

Here's what I am suggesting...

You take whatever it is you are hoping will change, or become a part of your everyday experience, and you write about it in your journal, as if it already has.

You express gratitude, you tell the story of what happened, you share what's happening "now" as result. And in doing so, your brain hears you thinking that story as if it is true, and the universe gets the message that you are completely clear about what you want and what you plan to do once you get it.

Would that be fun to try?

I've been doing that in my own journal for a while now, and for me, it's not only fun, but also exciting!

Visual Journaling

I suggested visual journaling during a 7-day "journal the life you want" challenge in my Facebook group, recently.

Listen, to hear how it can help to support you in manifesting the life you want…

Do you journal?

And if so, have you ever tried visual journaling?

This is the Answer to Everything

8/3/2021

Before you read this post, take a moment to think about the rest of your day. Think about the parts you're looking forward to, and the parts you're looking forward to a little less.

What are the best possible outcomes you could experience today? In each situation you are going to live into, what would it look like and feel like if it went exactly the way you wanted it to go?

Finished? Okay, great! Now, you're ready to read this post…

Picture

When I first discovered the answer to everything, I went right to my Facebook group, because I couldn't wait to tell them what had happened. In this 3-minute clip, you'll just see the highlights, but it's a great start to the story I'm telling below...

The Answer to Everything:
Having Groceries Delivered?

Until we entered the age of Corona, I would never have thought I would be one to take advantage of grocery delivery services. I thought it was a waste of money.

Even though I have a chronic illness, and grocery shopping often wears me out, it has always seemed like a luxury expense.

But these days, I am getting quite used to it. And it was all going well.

Until the day I discovered that the groceries I ordered sat outside my door for almost an hour without my knowing they were there.

And here's what is even worse - it turned out that that wasn't the biggest problem.

What Happened Next with
the Grocery Delivery Saga

The biggest problem happened when I called to complain and the people I talked to blamed ME!

And in addition to blaming me, their proposed solutions for the loss of the food (milk, cheese) were going to create more problems, and end up costing me money I didn't want to spend, for something I did not believe was my fault. After all, they left the food, but did not knock to tell me it was there.

Picture

Finally, a Solution that Would Work

Finally, during one of the times I was on hold, I told myself to calm down and started trying to visualize the result I wanted - feeling happy, while walking to the refrigerator to put away my milk and cheese.

A minute or so later, the guy came back on the line and said, "here's what we're going to do - in about an hour, we're going to send someone out to deliver the food to you at no extra charge."

That was the perfect solution, offered for the first time, a minute after I calmed down and visualized what I wanted.

So where does the mosquito fit in? The darn thing was bothering me all day, recently, and I couldn't kill it.

Until I finally tried the same kind of visualization - and it worked. Two seconds later, I saw it and killed it.

The answer to everything - visualize what you want before you go into whatever situation life is about to hand to you.

Has it Ever Worked for You?

Aren't you glad you took a minute to visualize your day going well today? Have you ever had a situation go well because you practiced it in your mind first?

See you tomorrow!

The power of a wish...

We'll be spending a lot of time this month thinking and talking about the wishes we hope will come true.

But it all starts right here, with making a wish! So if you knew you could have any wish you wanted, because it was guaranteed to come true, what would you wish for today?

Let me know in a comment.
