St. Patrick's Day: How to Change Your Luck for the Better

Why Your Luck is Hiding from You

Both my sister and a friend of mine are very lucky. They find money, they win money at casinos, they win contests, and if they want something, they usually get it.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same for myself.

You can't always get what you want, but sometimes it seems like I can never get what I want.

Do you ever feel that way? Why is it that sometimes the things you want most are the hardest to create in your life?

You may have heard these reasons here, before, but in my opinion there are usually two reasons we intend something that doesn't manifest.

-we have core beliefs that basically, hold up a stop sign to the things we want.

-we have core wounds that have never healed, and they do the same thing.

Do you think that might be true in your life?

Step out of the history that's holding you back. Step into the new story you're willing to create.

My St. Patrick's Day Reading

To get more clarity for myself, I decided to do a reading. For my reading, I pulled 3 cards from the Starseed Oracle, and one from The Herbcrafters Tarot, so the 3rd question has 2 answers

(1) Why is my luck hiding from me?...

The card I pulled was Lifting the Veil, and it's main point was that was about uncovering mistruths, or limiting beliefs, and letting go of anything that is out of alignment with who I am.

"Some Starseeds are here to lift the veil between the seen and the unseen worlds. To look deeper and question everything that generations did not."

(2) What do I need to do about it?...

The card I pulled for this question was You Got the Love.

The message of this card is to strengthen self-love and create healthy boundaries in any problematic relationship.

"Do you lose yourself in relationships? How can you develop a deeper love for yourself?

(3) What will happen when I do?...

The first card I pulled for this question was Whale and Orca Elders from the Starseed deck. The second was Adelita of Earth from Herbcrafter's Tarot.

The message for the first card is about the frequency of love. The card says that our whale and orca elders are infusing that frequency into the planet.

It says that whales see the truth of who you are, beyond the ways you have been wounded, and they see past your identity & personality. Being seen so clearly is life-changing.

"You're being called to surrender to your deepest truth and share it with potency. To leave your fears, doubts and baggage at the door."

It's about being willing to let others see who I truly am & revealing the unique note that I am here to sing. And the question I am meant to ask is in what way am I being called to share my song with the world?

Here is the link for a whale-singing video if you'd like to hear their beautiful, healing sound.

The second card is an Adelita card, and those are about finding the remedies that will help you come into your own.

"The Adelita of Earth explores new ways to embody old traditions without depleting any resources. She is committed to an earth-honoring spiritual path."

It also mentions honoring your heritage, and refers to Brigid and to Celtic heritage in particular, and to ground your spirituality in practical ways.

Chronic Illness & the Dark Night of the Soul

3/10/2022

A dark night of the soul is essentially when a person loses their connection to everything they once believed, to the divine. It is a spiritual crisis of sorts, an intense, dark period of questioning what is real, who they are, and why they're here. It usually precedes a profound spiritual awakening. - JessicaDimas.com

Chronic Illness & the
Dark Night of the Soul

Did your chronic illness initiate a dark night of the soul?

If so, it’s important to know, especially if you are still experiencing it, that it is not random, it is not failure and it is designed to lead to spiritual growth and deep inner transformation. It’s a spiritual awakening process, and unfortunately, you can’t tough your way through it, you can only surrender and trust that its outcome will be good.

Also, your chronic illness may last forever, but this dark night of the soul will not. You may feel like you have lost your way, or like you can’t quite find your footing, but the truth is that you are right where you are supposed to be.

And the upheaval may create this sense that you don’t know who you are anymore. But anything that was the truth of who you are is being refined or strengthened, and if it wasn’t you, then ultimately, it’s good that you can no longer connect to it.

3 Ways to Deal with Your
Dark Night of the Soul

Three things to do to help you get through this process...

(1) Surrender to & decide to accept whatever is happening in your life.

(2) Do whatever you can to feel good & be happy.

(3) Listen for guidance.

And speaking of guidance, consider a soul reading. I will draw cards that will shine light on your path, and connect with any other wisdom and guidance that’s important for you to know right now.

After I receive your payment, I will do your interactive soul path reading and email it to you, along with sacred self-care suggestions, based on what it says.

Then, if you have any questions, or need clarification, let me know and we can talk about it until you feel more clear about it. I’ll also draw another card or two for clarification, if you need that.

See you next time!

Love, Jeanine

A Spoonie Says Goodbye to the Ultimate Blog Challenge: Winter Edition

My Spoonie Life this Winter

Do y'all remember that song with the lyrics, "winter just isn't my season?" Truth!

Though I really enjoyed connecting with you guys this month, I know I wasn't here much. Which I regret, but could not really do anything about, unfortunately.

Here's what I have learned...

(1) If I don't write all my blog posts in advance, this is what participating in the UBC is probably going to look like.

(2) Might look like this even if I do.

(3) My epic crash this past month might be connected to doing #allthethings in December even though I was sick.

About that last one - I was so happy to be spending time with my friends, getting some Christmas shopping done, and eating fun food, that I went out and went out and went out, even though I was burdened by the latest plague my son caught at work.

It felt like I was getting away with it.

But chronic fatigue syndrome, or ME/CFS as it is usually now called, seems to have had the last laugh, because this month has been a wash! Sheesh.

Picture

Spoonie Self-Care & Spirituality

But you know what, I am still grateful I got to participate and connect with you guys at all.

My commitment to myself this year includes emotional and spiritual healing, rest and self-care. And I am learning that my illnesses are a kind of spiritual initiation.

It's likely I'd resist healing and spiritual growth without them. At least to some degree.

So, I guess - *cough* *mumbles* *shrugs* - I am grateful for them, too. ;)

How Did the UBC Challenge Go
for You this Month?

(1) Did you get more traffic?
(2) Did you get new subscribers?
(3) Did you have neat conversations?
(4) Did you feel more connected w/ your readers?

I hope you had a great experience.

And hopefully, I will see you next time!

Love you guys!

Mind Blown by this Fascinating Take on How to Find Your Life Purpose

1/17/2022

I've always been interested in new ways to understand how to find your life purpose. And a post I read yesterday marries life purpose to a question I often ask about everything from creating your perfect morning routine to planning your new year. Mind blown!

How Do You Want to Feel?

Now, if you're participating in the winter edition of the Ultimate Blog Challenge, you may have been lucky enough to read the blog post I am referring to, a couple of days ago. The post comes from Dominique Brooks, from RebootedMomMD.com.

And she marries finding your life purpose to my favorite question - how do you want to feel?

What I'd like to do here is think through her life purpose questions for myself, as journal prompts, and give you a chance to do the same.

Picture

The Life Purpose Journal Prompts

Internal goals are when we try to recognize how we want to feel. ... The second step is to learn how to generate that emotion. ... Finally, the third step is to find ways to share that emotion with others via a variety of services.... That’s your true life purpose. RebootedMomMD.com
Before reading my responses, I invite you to pause and consider each question for yourself...

How Do I Want to Feel?

TW: one night, after an episode of abuse, when I was about 9 years old, I was having an asthma attack and was determined not to survive it. But a loving being (guardian angel?) materialized in somewhat shadowy form and told me that if I stayed, I would eventually learn to be or become happy.

And ever since then, that has been my number one goal in life. I was pretty self-absorbed about it, too, for a good long while.

But eventually, a couple of decades ago, I had this moment of revelation about how people struggle to be a better person, but can't, because they can't heal or let go of the past.

The want to let things roll off their backs, or respond with compassion or kindness, or not react so strongly, etc. But something constrains them.

They want to be happier, but can't quite manage that. That was my struggle, too.

So one answer to how do I want to feel? is "happy."

But recently, in the past year or so, I have begun to add another one.

It's those moments when suddenly you notice that you aren't reacting the same way you normally do. When you feel a sense of oneness and love and want to send that out to all sentient beings.

I think of those moments as a kind of everyday enlightenment. And I want to experience a whole lot more of them.

Picture

How Can I Create that Feeling?

I would say that it is my spiritual practice and self-care & emotional healing experiences that have worked best in this area.

Spiritual aromatherapy with my favorite essential oils, visualization, yoga poses, and yoga mudras have all been powerful sources of those feelings and experiences. So I definitely want to continue all of those spiritual healing practices.

How Can I Share it with Others?

This is a question I've already been thinking about, though not exactly connected to life purpose.

But for most of my life, when I have thought about what I would do for the world, if I could, it's been about making everyone happy. And at an even deeper level, it means helping them heal and change the way they think and respond to life experiences, so that they are able to allow others to live in peace and have more happiness and peace, themselves.

I see people who do harm as being bound and as needing emotional healing so that they can be set free. But recently, I have thought of it in an even bigger sense, in terms of a kind of spiritual awakening or enlightenment, just as I have for myself.

So I want to write more about those concepts here and weave them into the work I do.

If you have not read Dominique's post yet, I urge you to hop on over there, because it is filled with goodness about how we can reclaim our power as women.

And in the comments, I'd love to know what thoughts have come up as you read her post or this one.

See you next time!

Love, Jeanine

World Religion Day & the Woo Woo

1/16/2022

Today is World Religion Day

I consider myself to be spiritual but not religious, and I believe, by that definition of woo woo, it describes the work I do as a coach and healer. Any other woo woo believers out there? By the way, I'm a daydream believer, too, but have never been a homecoming queen. ;)

We often question the veracity of particular theories or ideas simply because we know very little about them, or sometimes because we've heard other people refer to them as uncientific... - Why Woo Woo Works
Picture

Why Woo Woo Works

Picture
In his book, Dr. David R. Hamilton takes on several healing modalities or spiritual practices that have at one time or another been considered unscientific and provides evidence of research that validates them, explaining the science involved in why they work. He mentions meditation as an example.

It wasn't that long ago that meditation was considered a pseudoscience until fairly recently, despite its use in many cultures worldwide. But we now know that meditation rewires the brain in beneficial ways that can help with mental health, and memory and concentration.

And that's just to name a few benefits!

I'm a Reiki healer and when I first became a Reiki master, over 20 years ago, Reiki was still considered quackery by its critics. And though there still may be some who feel that way, Reiki is now used in medical hospitals.

Are there any alternative medical practices that you used to think were not legitimate, about which you have since changed your mind?

A spiritual touch practice based on the notion that human hands can redirect one’s “life force energy” to heal stress and disease, Reiki has been adopted in over 60 U.S. hospitals, according to a study at UCLA. The Healing Touch Professional Association estimates that over 30,000 nurses in U.S. hospitals use touch practices every year. - Washington Post

Celebrating World Religion Day

Picture

There's not a whole lot of scientific support for the religions of the world, either, but some of them have become mainstream too. And I think that whatever your religious or spiritual beliefs, today is a good day to celebrate them.

See you next time!

7 Steps to a Happier, Simpler Life

1/11/2022

Last week, I told you how to be happy. But I only laid the foundation. Let's look a little closer at how you can take this year and create a life you'll fall in love with over and over again.

But first, watch this 47-second virtual mini ritual, and take a moment to imagine the experiences & the feelings you want this year. Then, you'll have them in mind as you continue reading.

Were you able to follow along with the visualization steps? I am hoping this year brings you everything you want most! Now, let's look at how to make that happen...
Picture

Creating the Life You Want:
2 Things You Need to Know

(1) Whenever you have a negative feeling, there is almost surely going to be a limiting, core belief that inspired it. So next time you are feeling something funky, see if you can identify the core belief that is connected to it.

(2) Where there's smoke, there's fire, right? Well, where there's a negative core belief (the smoke), there are painful past experiences & core wounds that inspired it (the fire). When you have identified a core belief, get curious about which past experiences that belief helps to explain.

Negative core beliefs + core wounds from the past = everything you need to let go of and heal in order to get whatever it is you want, but can't seem to manifest in your life.

A Simpler Life, Filled with Happiness

Here are the 7 steps to creating it...

(1) Make a commitment to rewrite your story & create a future that’s different from the past.

(2) Slow down & carve out daily self-care time for yourself.

(3) Grab your journal for a few minutes each day & try to identify what is stealing your happiness, or standing in its way.

(4) Take back your power in these 3 ways...

  • learn how to raise your vibration
  • let go of negative core beliefs
  • heal the core wounds & feelings from your past

(5) Identify what a happier, simpler life would look & feel like to you.

(6) Start small by adding simple pleasures to your daily self-care rituals and routines

(7) Continue holding the vision for the life you want, and raising your vibration every day, until that life manifests in your reality.

These 7 steps represent a journey or a path to manifesting the life you want, this year, in 2022, or anytime. Where are you on the path?

See you next time!

An Epiphany: This is What Happened

The dream seeds you plant in the rich darkness of the 13 Holy Nights are like turbo-charged New Year’s resolutions. Rather than simply writing down a list of intentions you actually do the things, activities and practices you want to strengthen or develop in the coming year.... - Lara J. Day
Picture

My 13 Holy Days Experience

It was only yesterday, in retrospect, as I looked through my 13 days journal, that I realized what a rich, expansive and healing time my 13 days were.

Every intention that I set came to pass within that time. And I also acted on and experienced the readings I did for myself.

I made a list of everything and it was stunning! (39 items on that list)

Here are just a few of them…

(1) Cooking - I want to cook healthier meals, and real-er meals, instead of say, making a sandwich, or having one-item dinners.

(2) Time with Friends - I want to spend more time with my friends.

(3) Time with my Son - As is to be expected, my son spends more time with his friends, these days, than he does with me. And he did a bit of a pendulum swing in making that shift. But I would like it to swing back toward the middle this year & begin to do again, some of the things we used to do together (eat a meal, watch TV, etc.

Here’s what happened…

Background - do you remember that on the first day of the challenge, I mentioned that we sometimes experience both financial & food insecurity?

As a result, we have made lots of microwaved one-item meals and have been watching TV separately on our phones.

So, just before the 13 days began, my friend and her wife told us they would be giving us food every month to help us, and one of them took us to a grocery store and gave us our first Christmas gift from them, a really big, two-cart grocery spend.

Then, at Christmas (the day after) they gave us a Roku TV and a pasta pot that comes with a strainer thing. We all ate dinner together, too, at their house.

My son and I watched TV for hours the other day, and we spent other time together too. Inviting people over is another 2022 intention of mine, and on Christmas day, we had his friend over and all of us cooked our dinner.

I also cooked most of and the healthiest part of the New Year’s Day meal at my friends' house and watched a movie with them after we ate dinner. While I was cooking the collard greens, cabbage, black-eyed peas and rice, I collected wishes from them and stirred some magic into each one.

The stirring in love and wishes is another part of my cooking intention for the year.

NOTE - I set my intentions before the 13 days, and set some that I forgot to write down - and still they came true during the 13 days, and some began even before then. Plus, it stunned me that without knowing anything about them, my friends enabled several of them for us!

But I was sick during the entire 13-day experience, and a little depressed, too. I always feel sorry for myself when I get sick.

So my felt experience of the 13 days was not very holy or sacred. And there were moments when I felt like I was failing by not doing it well enough (recovering perfectionist here).

But yesterday, when I woke up, and began to think about and itemize everything that happened, I realized that not only were the intentions manifested, but I also made some powerful shifts and healed and grew, etc.

And by the way, that happens a lot when I get sick. For most of this past year, my illnesses turn out to feel like they were initiations once they are over.

Also, I kinda forgot some of the guidance in my readings after doing them, and only when I came back afterward, did I see how they had guided me into action and had come true during those days.

So not only do I now see that even when I couldn’t feel it, my 13 days were successful, I also feel immense gratitude for them.

Picture

Word of the Year

Do you usually find a word of the year and did you do it this time?

I normally don’t do that, but this year, during the 13 days. a phrase came to me.

I had this vision of the divine leading me into 2022, my hands enfolded, and what I heard in my head was “trust Me.” So that’s my word (phrase) of the year.

How You Can Experience the
Same or Similar Benefits

(1) Seek spiritual guidance & intuition using this New(ish) Moon & Waxing Crescent energy for about the next week or so.

(2) Also, during that week, journal about your intentions for the year & get clear about what you want.

(3) Then begin to seed your year for the next week or so, until the Full Moon, by acting on the guidance & doing, living & experiencing as much as you can.

Example of how you can do that…

One of the things I want to be paid to do this year is tarot coaching/readings. So my son paid me a nickel and I did a “who you are being” one-card reading for him that was so on point, it surprised both of us.

Also, I am exploring the possibility of making & selling healing potions (i.e. essential oil body care blends). So I made some and gave them to my friends for Christmas. And had my son pay me for one (a nickel) which I made yesterday.

Now, if you have difficulty living anything out, and you think there might be something afoot, like negative core beliefs or fear, use the time after the Full Moon for doing some work on letting go.

Announcement

I believe that because the earth settles in for a long winter’s nap, resting and slowing life down a bit are important things for the human part of the earth to do, too.

I intend to spend the next 3 months or so resting, creating lots of cozy, hygge moments, and continuing to seek guidance for myself. This is the time to nurture your dreams about what you want for the year, but not the time to run hard after them.

And in my work, my mission is to help women uncover what is holding them back (negative core beliefs, unhealed experiences, etc.), and encourage them to slow down, rest and use self-care practices for letting go of the past, and for spiritual and emotional healing.

But because I have been working harder than I intended with this blog challenge, I am going to cut my posts back to 3x/week, starting next week, and won’t be posting again until Monday.

See you then!

Want to Be Happier? Slow Down & Take Hygge Breaks

1/4/2022

Do you feel rushed as you go about your day?

Research suggests that 28% of Americans always feel rushed, and more than 60% say that they don't have enough free time. And according to research detailed in a post on Wamu.org, the people who report being happiest say that they almost never feel rushed.

So if you want to be happy, you'll likely need a slower pace and dedicated breaks that could be considered free time. And if you really want happiness, make those breaks hygge ones.
Our pace is determined not by the length of our to-do list but by whether we pause (and for how long) in between the items on those lists. -Keri Wyatt Kent, Rest: Living in Sabbath Simplicity
Picture

What is Hygge?

"Hue-gah" - this Danish concept cannot be translated to one single word but encompasses a feeling of cozy contentment and well-being through enjoying the simple things in life. If you've ever enjoyed reading a book indoors on a rainy Sunday or a cup of hot cocoa
on a snow day, you've experienced hygge without even knowing it. - CountryLiving.com

Take Hygge Breaks

What does it mean to take a hygge break?

Hygge breaks aren't just a temporary pause in your day, they are moments you create on purpose, to engender coziness or wellbeing.

It would mean sitting on the couch and leaning back, while reading a book for a few minutes. Curling up under a big blanket and having a cup of tea.

So that each big activity in your day was broken up by pleasure moments that give you a break. Hopefully, a refreshing one, so that you feel better and find it easier to resume whatever you were doing, or move on to the next thing.

How could you create more room in your daily schedule for hygge breaks?

See you tomorrow!

Festival of Sleep Day

1/3/2022

In this post, we'll take a look at how to get good, quality sleep at night, what you can do during your evening routine to make things better & the benefits of biphasic sleep.

Why? Because it's Festival of Sleep Day! :)
Climb into your PJ’s, jump into bed and relax, or even take a nap if you are able! The Festival of Sleep Day was encouraged so that people could enjoy some relaxation and much-needed “shut-eye” after the holiday period. - DaysoftheYear.com
Picture
According to research, 1 out of 3 Americans are sleep-deprived because they don't get enough sleep and/or the quality of their sleep is impaired. How about you?

Are you getting enough sleep? If not, here are ways that changing your evening routine may help...

Does Your Evening Routine Need Tweaking? Take the Quiz

True or False...

(1) You often eat dinner later than you intended, and on those nights, you often go to bed later, too.

(2) When dinner is over, you're already exhausted, so the dishes-and-wipe-down routine happens on fumes, and there's no energy left for a me-time evening routine.

(3) You like the idea dedicating time for simple pleasures or restful self-care, but more often than you'd like, that time never gets added to the schedule.

(4) You often go to bed later than you planned, because completing what's on your to-do list takes longer than you anticipated.

(5) You go to bed on time, but can't sleep because your mind is still spinning.
If you are the type to keep running all the time, perhaps the first step on your Sabbath Simplicity journey is to begin to see the evening as a time to take a small rest, to reconnect relationally, to stop.
- Rest: Living in Sabbath Simplicity
Maybe aromatherapy can help you to wind down, and let go of all of the tension or stress the day handed you, so you can get to sleep & wake up refreshed the next morning.

Lavender is a great essential oil for all three purposes.

It can help you relax and can hug away your stress and tension. It can help you surrender to sleep when it's time to go to bed. And it's soothing properties may make the entire wind down process easier than it would be otherwise.

Benefits of Biphasic Sleep

Would a split sleep schedule help you?

Almost all of us do all of our sleeping during one period of time each day. But is that really the best way?

Let's look at how biphasic sleep could benefit you.
Biphasic sleep is the idea of breaking
up the sleep period into 2 distinct
and separate time periods.
Some studies suggest that humans would naturally adopt this style of sleeping when they're deprived of clocks and external time cues like the sun.

Typically, biphasic sleep consists of...

  • A core sleep period of 3 – 4.5 hours
  • A secondary sleep period of 90 minutes.

Many people think of this second period of sleep as a "nap." The 90-minute time frame is important because most people have a sleep cycle of 90 minutes.

Your greatest challenge is likely to be fitting the nap into your schedule.

Ideally, you could nap when you're most tired. This seems to be in the afternoon for many of us.

If you don't work outside the home, 3pm maybe an easy time to take your nap.

But for women who would be at work then, taking a nap just before or after dinner seems to be the best way to fit one in during the day.

Benefits of Biphasic Sleep

Here are the biggest potential benefits of biphasic sleep...

  • Reduced total time spent sleeping. Biphasic sleepers don't seem to need to 7 or 8 recommended hours.
  • Improved quality of sleep. Biphasic sleepers report that their sleep quality is deeper and better.
  • More dream recall. For those who like to analyze their dreams, these decreased periods of sleep appear to making remembering their dreams easier.

Picture

Starting a Biphasic Sleep Practice

You may find that starting a biphasic sleep practice is easy. Just take a nap for 90 minutes in the early evening and then go to bed three to four hours later than you usually do.

Expect to be tired for the first week. And give yourself 21-28 days to really evaluate if biphasic sleep is for you. If all is well, after that time, you'll know that this sleep practice works well for you.

Do you take a planned nap each day? Would aiming for less nighttime sleep, but scheduling or taking an afternoon nap work for you?

My take - I'd like to try it, because I think it would make it easier to get up early in the morning. But I think I would want my nap to happen around late morning or early afternoon.

See you tomorrow!

Love, Jeanine

Spiritual Guidance for Setting New Moon Intentions

1/2/2022

Picture

Today is a day that is filled with possibility!

Because of the new moon (and the new year), it's a great day for setting powerful intentions. And because we are still within the 13 sacred days - which you can learn more about here - it's also a great day for getting intuitive wisdom to guide your intention-setting, and for seeding those intentions by experiencing what it is you want to create.
This new moon will push you to re-evaluate everything, from your goals for 2022 to how you can (finally) achieve that perfect work-life balance. - WomensHealthMag.com

Have you been feeling that energy? If so, this new moon is the reason why. It might feel like deciding on a new intention one day, and second-guessing yourself the next.

But be patient, because not only will that energy fade, but if you set intentions that are aligned with your intuitive wisdom, your heart and your soul, they will still be there, along with any action plans you make, when the new moon passes.

The New Moon in Capricorn

Whether or not New Year’s resolutions are your thing, the spiritual meaning of this lunation makes it a gorgeous time to clarify your personal intentions and make sure they align on a soul level. Allow yourself to dig deep into your soul to identify exactly why you want what you want under this new moon. - January New Moon, Bustle.com

The Capricorn new moon will offer motivation to set your intentions and then develop a grounded plan to manifest them. Because of planets and other signs connected to this new moon - Uranus and Taurus specifically, - you also may experience some exciting surprises, creative inspiration and eye-opening epiphanies that will empower your intentions even more.
Hosted by a deep, dark, blank-slate sky, you might imagine that the new moon is offering up a vision board on which you can scribble your intentions. New moons traditionally present a chance to get clear on long-term dreams, goals, and big-picture projects. And in order to lock them in, you can practice a ritual like opening up to a therapist or loved one, journaling, lighting a candle, or doing a visualization practice. - Shape.com
Once your intentions are set, why not solidify them by writing them down in your journal, creating a vision board and then visualizing every intention happening and feeling the way you want it to feel.

Create a Vision Board

Last month, I joined a Facebook group that my friend, Julie Jordan-Scott is leading. There is a daily writing prompt, and one day, the question was about who you would want to have with you, while sitting by the fire.

I immediately saw myself with my friends, hanging out around a fireplace, in a living room, and I could feel how good it felt to live there and to have them come over as guests.

And I am setting an intention for that to come true this year. We will be moving somewhere - it might as well be somewhere with a fireplace!

What is one of the dreams that you are hoping will come true this year?

See you tomorrow!

Happy New Year!!

And welcome back, UBCers. It's great to see you again.

In this post, I'll be sharing my mission for the year and for this month's blog posts. I'll also tell you my tale of woe and what I am going to do about it.

It's going to be a wonderful year!

Stay with me, because I've also got an invitation and a gift for you, right here in the post...

My Mission & I Choose to Accept it

This year, and this month, particularly, I intend to offer inspiration, information and encouragement that will empower you to let go of and heal the core wounds, core beliefs and the connected painful feelings that are holding you back.

When you can let go of and heal whatever is in your way, it will not only move you farther along the self-love journey, but also give you the ability to create a life you love - not someday in the future, but every day.
We are so disempowered
when we haven't healed.

"This is a Story All about How My Life Got Flipped, Turned Upside Down"

My mission for my own life this year is to heal myself and empower my own transformation. Mind you, that has been my mission for decades now.

And a lot has healed!

But still, somehow, I have managed to hold myself back while simultaneously working really hard, and getting nowhere fast.

Why and how? I've been on a quest to find the secret, the holy grail that would finally empower me to be successful and make the money I wanted and needed to make. And I hustled like a mofo trying to get after it, but nothing worked.

Well, here's what finally sunk in...

I realized that I am already empowered to create the life I want. But the reason I've been stuck is that right after asking for what I want and while being very busy trying to create it, I am basically, holding up a stop sign to the universe.

And here's the thing - I also didn't have any kind of trust that I could create the big life I dreamed of, so I worried it away from me.

I've been a Mack truck in neutral, succumbed to life, instead of being an empowered co-creator with it.

It got worse after my life went to hell several years ago! The result - poverty, financial and food insecurity, more depression, more anxiety and a sense of hopelessness that was a constant struggle for me.

But Here's What Has Changed!

I finally got the message that busy work is a trap that doesn't lead anywhere good, and that contrary to popular opinion, the hustle is NOT my solution, or my ticket out of the life I have now and into the life that's waiting for me.

My empowered path is a path of healing. With healing as my top priority, and biggest time and energy commitment. And some of that healing is going to look a lot like rest and not doing much of anything.

What I can do for you is the easy part for me. I am rolling in, flush with and full of ways to heal and ways to help, and amazing stuff I can teach. But that is not what is most important, right now.

It's gotta be me! And I have to tell you, I'm excited about that. It's a daily flip of the switch, because "put your nose to the grindstone" is a core belief for me.

But finally, I really trust that that is not my purpose.

And I'm so happy to finally get it. I'm quite optimistic about this new year.

The Dreamer's Journey Begins Again

Thank goodness, I have never given up on myself - for long! And I have come to love myself more and more. Been working on trust as a spiritual practice..

I've learned that slow living and a simpler life are antidotes to the hamster wheel & the tyranny of the never-ending to-do list and that I have to make that the center of my life plan.

I've learned in a deeper way than ever before that healing the past and firing it as a predictor of the future is a thing I must do.

I've learned that in order to do that I'm going to have to rewire my brain and evict all of the feelings that have been hanging around rent-free.

And I've learned that as I do that, I will become more and more likely to attract the people I came here to help and get paid to do it.

And that, of course, will change my life.
