Do Affirmations Work?

How to Use Affirmations to
Change Your Neural Pathways

Positive affirmations are words or phrases that we repeat to ourselves daily or whenever we are struggling. Instead of letting our inner voices mirror the critical voices in our lives, we can replace those with tracks of our own crafting that inspire us to keep reaching for greatness.

We can interrupt our neural pathways when they have been programmed toward negative thoughts by interrupting them with positive affirmations.

Instead of thinking, “I’m too stupid to do this,” for example, we can interrupt that negative thought by saying, “I can do this!” to ourselves.

So once you have set your intentions for the year, you might know that you have some limiting beliefs that will get in the way of manifesting them. Affirmations may be a way to change your mind. And to create new positive expectations about your intentions coming true...

Do you agree? Can affirmations work?

More, tomorrow, on how to use affirmations, especially when they don't seem to be working. See you then!

Love, Jeanine

Affirmations- Ok, the reference to "the Little Engine that Could" made things all that much clearer to me. Thank you......affirmations, yeah they do work if you keep saying things and keep them positive.....Ya gotta however block out the negative thoughts others want or bring into play. Also being realistic in your affirmations is helpful, right?

Wow this is a great write up. I just read it out aloud and we gave ourselves positive affirmations to help with some of the challenges that we are facing now. Thank you.

Yes yes yes! I think our mindset is so important. You are what you believe and your thoughts will either limit you or take you beyond what you'd ever imagine possible. :)

Yes, exactly! And since they can take us beyond what we knew was possible, we better choose the ones we want. ;)

Yes they work! I have a very positive attitude and love to pass it on to others that may have the "I can't do this" attitude. I tell them "yes you can"!

Hi Jeanine,
It sounds like you have it all together. It must be the affirmations that are working for you. I am looking forward to what else you can tell me about affirmations. for now, the jury is still out.

I think positive self talk can work. We all know negative talk works very effectively so why not the opposite? I try to use positive affirmations whenever I remember to do so. Thanks for the post.

What a good point, Karen! Negative self-talk can certainly work powerfully.

Positive self talk is a confidence booster. For me it helps me to get back on my feet whenever i feel down and unsecured.

I hope they work, in fact I think it's a good idea for me to take a sheet of paper and write them out- put them on my fridge and repeat them as often as possible during the day!

Let's experiement shall we......I'll be your test case!!
