Happy New Year!

Good to see you again, UBC bloggers! I missed you.

My life descended into hell for a while last year, after my mother died, and several other things went wrong. I had some health challenges add themselves to my chronic illness (chronic fatigue syndrome), so I took quite some time to rest, and missed the last two ultimate blog challenges.

I am back to blogging, but just barely. This month, I'll be focusing on this new year we've got going. But unlike other challenge months, I have not written every post in advance.

This is the only post I have written, just before New Year's Eve starts in earnest, and though I have a vague outline of what I'd like to write about, for the first time in many years, I will be writing as we go. Sheesh! I hope I make it to the end. :)

Speaking of New Year's Eve, how did you celebrate? I plan to make a bookend cup of tea tonight (this one, decaf), watch the ball drop and then, watch a Christmas movie on Netflix. Christmas movies give me more hope for the year ahead then singing "New York, New York" right after the clock strikes twelve.

I'd also like to know what you will be blogging about this month.

See you tomorrow, beloveds!

Jeanine

So glad to see you back Jeanine, your mom is watching over you and guiding you. Our New Years Eve was uneventful, we completed painting the computer room during the day then I made a delicious dinner of scallops and shrimp. Had to fight to keep my eyes open until midnight but I made it!! LOL Looking forward to having a cup of tea with you via the internet!! Hugs and wishing you a wonderful New Year.

(((hugs))), Martha! And thank you for your kind words about my mom. I believe she is an angel up there helping me, too! And I feel her presence sometimes and feel her love. I didn't end up watching the movie because I got sleepy, too, so I know what you mean. :)

I'm sorry you've had such a rough time. Me too, though for different reasons, primarily health-related.

I'm back, too. I celebrated by working on my plans for the year.

I'm also back to blogging. I haven't had the physical challenges you have and wish you the best in moving forward. I just haven't been disciplined and now I'm ready. I'll be alternating between my mind-body blog and my metaphysical blog. Let's have fun!

Thank you, Lily! I'm sorry it was a hard year for you, too. Well, I am going to try to borrow your energy this month to see if I can do the same with my own posts. :)

Well, I had bought tickets to First Night Alexandria, but we spent so much time at dinner, we barely reached old town in time to see the fireworks (spectacle diminished due to rain and fog, to boot).
But, we did listen to some live music and ended the evening around 4 AM

Welcome back, I would like a Cup of Hot Tea as well. I have a new book to read this evening and if all goes well I plan on watching Hallmark Movies as I think they may have a new one on. I Pray your health is better and I am so sorry about your mom. In the meantime have a Happy New Year.

Hi, Glenda! Yes, let's have a cup of tea. Thank you for your wishes. I am headed for Hallmark, myself, as soon as decide to stop working on his blog (yep, it's bugging me to have nothing done except this post and tomorrow's done).

Welcome back, Jeanine! I've missed your blog posts. They touch my heart. I am sorry that you had such a rough year. I've had kind of a rough year, too. My mom is in a nursing home, diagnosed with dementia. She is getting worse, withdrawing into herself, and losing contact with the world around her. I want to make her happy but I don't know how.

As for my blog... just like you, I'll be writing as I go. Who knows what stories I may find along the journey? So I will keep myself open to the possibilities.

Hugs. I'll have tea later, too. Here's to better things for us in the new year.
sincerely, your friend, alice

Thanks so much, Alice!! I will gladly join you for tea. I'm sorry to hear what's happening with your mom. I can understand the pain of not being able to make things better, or knowing what to do, because I felt that way, too. Well, I guess we'll see how it goes, with this one day at a time blog thing. :) Hope this year is spectacular for both of us!

Sorry to hear you've had such a rough year. I hope 2019 will be kind to you.
I've completely relaunched my blog this year. There's going to be a bit more focus on our faith but I'll still be mainly writing about my four year old and all the things we get up to together

Thanks, Janet!! This is sort of a relaunch, too, though I am not completely where I will land with a focus yet.

Jeanine, so glad to see you again in the UBC.. Your memories of your mom are definitely ones that will keep you going and make you smile (and also feel weepy) at odd times.. I know because that is how I am nowadays since my dad passed away in mid-November..
Hoping for a healthy, happy 2019 for all

Thank you for your kind words, Vidya! And I'm so sorry for your loss. I think losing a parent is one of the hardest things. It knocks you off your bearing.

I hope this is an opportunity to get back to doing what you love Jeanine. I hope this year is less challenging than last year and that the "fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants" approach to the blogging challenge gets you pumped up for this round (I'm doing the same thing this challenge-go-round).

Happy New Year. :-)

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad's passing, Pamela!! Blessings to you. And thanks for the welcome. I'm allergic to dogs and haven't yet tried one of the hypoallergenic ones. But I will eventually. Looking forward to more of your posts!
